Cebu Stake (diocese) Performs "The Forgotten Carols" Musical

Making this year's Christmas season more special for everyone, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cebu performed  Michael McLean's Christmas musical, "The Forgotten Carols," at the Cebu Temple Complex, Lahug, Cebu City.

Ringing with joyous music and Christmas cheer, the two night play (December 19 and 26) was attended by hundreds of people and their families.  Special guests included government officials, religious leaders, media personnel and other non-government agency friends.

"Lingaw kaayo labi na si Uncle John (It was so fun especially Uncle John)," 9 year old Marjorie Cabase smiled as she  shared that she enjoyed the humor of Uncle John, one of the  main characters of the play.

The beautiful voices and the wonderful spirit of the performers enchanted the audience.

"Nindot kaayo ilang mga tingog! Labi na jud sa bidang si Connie Lou, (Their voices were amazing! Especially from the protagonist Connie Lou),"  Esteve Urot exclaimed on his way out of the building. Esteve had been invited by his classmate to watch the play and he felt grateful for the opportunity.

"Super enjoy kaayo," he added saying that he had now found his two new favorite songs - "Connie Lou's Song" and "All I Ever Wanted" - both of which were sung by Janice Honoridez who portrayed Connie Lou, the main protagonist.

"Looking forward for next Christmas," Esteve said with a smile.

For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), the Christmas season is a special time to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Every year, Latter-day Saints gather with family and friends and recall the tender scene of “the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger” (Luke 2:12). Like other Christians, Latter-day Saints recognize that without the Savior’s atoning sacrifice and His victorious Resurrection, His birth in Bethlehem would not mean all that it does today.
