The Philippines Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is one with the nation in welcoming Pope Francis as he joins the Filipino people for an apostolic visit. The following message was released by President Ian S. Ardern today:
"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is pleased that Pope Francis is visiting the Philippines. It is a rare opportunity for Filipinos to see the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church in their own country and we hope that his visit will bring an increase of goodwill, regardless of one's religious denomination, amongst all people during and beyond his visit."
