Celebrate Easter with Messiah and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!

This Easter, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square invite all to join them in adding voices with those around the world celebrating the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ. On Good Friday, March 25, the Choir and Orchestra will live stream throughout the world their performance of Handel’s beloved Messiah oratorio from Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. In the Philippines, the performance is available in the morning of Saturday, March 26, 9:30 am.

Composed in 1741 by George Frideric Handel in just 23 days, Messiah uses biblical texts to herald the life of Jesus Christ, and has become one of the world’s most performed and beloved musical traditions.

To enrich the Messiah experience with the choir, they have made available downloadable instructions, a sample public domain musical score, and the concert program with libretto, plus other information at motab.org/messiah.

Join Messiah celebrations in one of these ways!

Live Stream using the Internet

Join the choir in the comfort of your own home to hear Messiah on Good Friday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. MDT with a pre-concert feed beginning at 7:00 p.m.  The live stream video can be accessed at motab.org/messiah. It will be available after the concert for on-demand viewing at motab.org/messiah and on the Choir’s YouTube channel through Monday, April 4, at 11:59 p.m. MDT).  (Philippine schedule: 9:30 am, Saturday, March 26)

A video produced by the Church in cooperation with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir features the Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in large virtual choir. Singers from all over the world submitted videos singing their vocal part of Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus. These were then compiled together with a performance of Choir and Orchestra to make an amazing virtual choir. These videos are part of the way we are lifting up our voices to say what “Hallelujah” means: Praise Ye, the Lord! at this Eastertime.
